Banco do Brasil and Consulate Will Help to Pay for Dinner Honoring Bolsonaro in USA

Banco do Brasil (BB) and the Brazilian consulate in New York will help finance a gala-dinner organized to honor the president Jair Bolsonaro. The event, scheduled for May 14, is put on by the Brazilians-American Chamber of Commerce.
The bank agreed to pay US $12,000 for a table with 10 places at the annual gala dinner of the organization, whose objective is to raise funds to promote the interests of Brazilian and American companies in the United States.

Folha asked the Banco do Brasil spokesperson if the decision to sponsor the homage to the president was done at the request of Bolsonaro, but the bank did not respond.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it paid $US 10,000 for its table. According to Itamaraty, the “important partnership,” maintained with the chamber helps in the “promotion of Brazilian economic and commercial interests.”
