Brazil's Congress Votes against The Paper Ballot
Proposal was rejected on the same day the president promoted a parade of military vehicles in Brasília

On the day that Jair Bolsonaro led a parade of military vehicles in front of the Planalto Palace, the paper ballot bill, reason for the president's successive coup demonstrations, was defeated by the plenary of the House of Representatives.
There were 229 in favor of the text, 218 against and one abstention. It takes at least 308 votes out of the 513 congresspersons —60%— for the paper ballot proposal to go ahead.
In other words, 79 votes were needed for the bill to be approved. Upon the result, it was filed. The abstention was made by Aécio Neves (PSDB), who, in 2014, asked for an audit of the election results after losing by a narrow margin to former president Dilma Rousseff (PT).
The vote this Tuesday (10) buries the paper ballot proposal, which helped to escalate attacks by Bolsonaro on members of the Supreme Court and the Superior Electoral Court and which aggravated a crisis between the Powers.
