JICA praises Peru's progress in social inclusion, poverty reduction (Japan)

Lima, Jan. 13 (ANDINA). The Japan International Agency Cooperation (JICA) highlighted the progress achieved in the social inclusion sphere and the success of the poverty reduction strategy implemented by the Peruvian government.
JICA President Akihito Tanaka stressed the countrys inclusive economic growth and its social development through enhancing public services such as education and health care.
Mr. Tanaka made an official visit to Peru on January 9-11, and he met with key government figures and signed a Japanese ODA loan agreement with the government on a project for improving water and sanitary facilities.
Furthermore, he said that JICAs intention is to deepen the bilateral cooperation with Peru in development goals such as poverty reduction.
JICA head added that cooperation led to the Peru is based on "sustainable development with social inclusion, infrastructure development and environmental considerations in the prevention and mitigation of disasters."
