Venezuela: A total of 3,040,449 votes were cast in opposition primary election

The Electoral Committee of the opposition Unified Democratic Panel (MUD) released a new report on its website saying that 3,040,449 Venezuelans voted in the primary elections held on Sunday, according to a review of 99% of the vote records.

Which means that around 17% of the total national electorate voted in these primaries.

Does someone have an example of a more participative primary vote in history ?

I notice AVN and Telesur don't have much to say about the primary.

It may well be 17% of eligible voters but it's 25% of voters who vote.

Compare that to US Democratic Primaries in 2008 (most popular of all time) which was only 15% of the previous years turnout.

I'm focusing on turnout only not registered only.

This was one of the most stunning primary elections of all time in any country, imho.
