The most expensive city for a one-bedroom apartment in September was San Francisco at with an average rent of $3,540.
A two-bedroom apartment runs at $4,790 in San Francisco.

In New York a one-bedroom apartment runs an average rent of $3,030.
A two-bedroom apartment runs $3,440 in New York.

San Jose, CA stayed the 3rd priciest city with one bedroom rents at $2,520, while two bedrooms were $3,000.

Boston, MA had one bedroom apartments at an average rent of $2,500, and two bedrooms $2,900.

Overall, the national average one bedroom rent was$1,250, while two bedrooms was $1,493.
