Last year a futures contract for lumber was around $370. It went up as high as $1600 a few weeks ago. Now it's dropped back blow $1000. Still 2 1/2 times what it used to be.

I haven't been to the big box home improvement store this week, so I don't know if the drop is reflected in the price of a sheet of plywood yet.
