1. A risk attached to outsourcing the manufacture of parts.

Could have been built in the U.S. Worst thing they'd have to contend with would have been the UAW.

2. GM was greedy for huge profits so they outsourced overseas.

Do business writers know the difference between income and profits? They are not usually the same thing.
