Rick Smith: I’m still reeling from the unemployment numbers. 17 million people unemployed in just three weeks and while it’s bad, it can be much worse. As bad as this administration is, as horrible as their response has been, there are people out there doing a lot of really great work.

I’ve asked my next guest to come talk with us. She’s the president of the Association of Flight Attendants (CWA). Sarah Nelson represents 50,000 workers at 20 airlines and is doing an incredible job. Look at the CARES Act for an example of her work.

Sarah, thanks for taking the time for us.

Sara Nelson: Rick. So happy to be with you and especially the other Sarahs, too.

Sara Nelson, President of the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA joined Rick on the Show to discuss her union’s response to the Corona-virus as her members are literally the frontline, the historic nature of the CARES Act in addressing the needs of workers, safety on the job, and what the path forward looks likes from the perspective of workers.
