Operating Engineers Sue In Federal Court To Block Indiana ‘Right To Work’ Law

The International Union of Operating Engineers Local 150 is suing Indiana to block the so-called ‘right-to-work’ anti-union law. The federal suit seeks a 10-day restraining order until a judge can rule on the suit. The suit alleges a violation of the constitution’s equal protection clause among other challenges. That’s because building and construction trades union members are treated differently than public workers under the anti-union legislation.
