Would love to get this group more active on the TPP

There are weekly twitterstorms on Tuesdays, 9 Eastern/ 6 Pacific.

Here is the latest AFL-CIO blog post on the topic:

A New Trade Deal Is the Best Kept Secret in Washington

Have you heard of the TPP (Trans-Pacific Partnership Trade Agreement)? If not, the reason is probably because the 12 participating countries have agreed to keep the text of the deal secret. Especially when trade deals since the North American Free Trade Agreement have affected everything from jobs and wages to food safety, local zoning decisions, financial stability and even government preferences for American products (known as Buy American provisions).

Even Bloomberg News is frustrated. Its recent editorial says:

"The U.S. has invited more than 500 corporate advisers to help it negotiate a deal. Corporations and trade groups, however, don’t represent the broader interests of consumers, workers, environmentalists and…oh, yes, taxpayers. TPP Tuesday is a weekly Twitterstorm event to spread thematic messages about the TPP. Last week, the question was "Where is Democracy in the TPP?" This week, the storm is hosted by @FairTradeCampus, and it's theme is young people's thoughts on the TPP. All interests parties, please join in! You can also help by spreading the word to your networks and in your twitterverse.

The event will be held Tuesday, November 26 at 9PM Eastern/6PM Pacific (US Times). It'll be the most exciting SFW one hour you'll have on twitter ever.

Use the link below to spread the word. And thanks!

That seems to be one of the more progressive groups on DU. Was just trying to spur interest here given that there's a lot of AFL-CIO material. But this is not an overly active group anyway, with the exception of Omaha Steve and Teamster Jeff. I guess the hope was quixotic.
