Triple A Fire Protection, Inc. agrees to make installment payments totaling $2.7 million

May 23, 2014

On May 14, 2014, the National Labor Relations Board approved a settlement agreement with Triple A Fire Protection, Inc. (Employer), an Alabama company that installs fire protection systems throughout the Southeast, and the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry of the United States and Canada, Road Sprinkler Fitters Local Union No. 669, AFL-CIO (Union). This agreement remedies several longstanding violations of the National Labor Relations Act and includes language which restores the employees’ selection of the Union as their bargaining representative as well as including $2.7 million in backpay and pension fund payments on behalf of 462 current and former employees. The agreement provides for installment payments to better ensure the continuation of the Employer’s business operation while complying with the terms of the settlement.
