At my daughters' pre-primary school (they're 23 and 27 now:)

When Pre-Primary children in the Explorers Room were given rulers picturing all of the US Presidents, teachers asked the children: What do you see? Here is what the children said:

* I see people.
* I see Rock Obama.
* I see numbers.
...
When asked what they knew about President Obama, the children replied:

* He is a man.
* He works in a White House.
* He has all the money in the bank.
* He knows the time.
* When is it going to be his birthday?
* When does Rock Obama sleep?
* I see him at restaurants.

First, the "Rock" Obama made me giggle. But, not one said, "a black man" or "he's black".

We have a future and it just may be brighter than we expect.

The school's in DC, is actively multi-cultural, private, and has been an education innovator since its origin, in 1965.
