Alberta oil spills
I was looking f/ news on latest pipeline oil spill in Alberta, Canada so I typed in "Alberta oil spill 2016." What I got was a long list going back several years of many such spills there.
Many claim pipelines are safest means of transport but that neglects important factors: sometimes it's weeks before these spills are discovered; there's often a greater chance of water contamination; they are often much more difficult to clean up (harder to repair obviously).
That the spills are in Alberta are extra distressing because, like North Dakota, these are tar sands, more toxic and much more difficult to clean up than other oils. Just ask Kalamazoo. Tar sands oil in Kalamazoo River took years to cleanit may still not be free from the pollutant. And someone told me it was inferior Chinese steel being used in pipelines...
