Climate change is making us sick, top U.S. doctors say

From increases in deadly diseases to choking air pollution and onslaughts of violent weather, man-made climate change is making Americans sicker, according to a report released Wednesday by 11 of the nation's top medical societies.

The report was prepared by the Medical Society Consortium on Climate and Health, a new group that represents more than 400,000 doctors, who make up more than half of all U.S. physicians.

“Doctors in every part of our country see that climate change is making Americans sicker,” said Mona Sarfaty, the director of the new consortium and a professor at George Mason University in Fairfax, Va.

“Physicians are on the frontlines and see the impacts in exam rooms," she said. "What’s worse is that the harms are felt most by children, the elderly, Americans with low income or chronic illnesses, and people in communities of color.”

1. Everything in this country that is touched by the Republicans

in Congress (and the conservative voters because they put them there) is making us sick.

Destroy the environment and the poor, minorities, elderly will get sicker but because their health care has been destroyed, they will not get well. The rich bastards (mostly ignorant white men) will have more money but will be breathing the same fouled air and will enventually get sicker, too. They will have healthcare but even the best drugs won't fight the new super bacteria that flourish because the environment is fucked up and their laws have killed off honey bees along with countless other species so natural cures like honey will be gone.
The new generation of care givers will be too uneducated to find new cures because, well, DeVosification. Then even younger people will no longer be healthier because well, there will be so many more of them not getting proper care because, you know defunded Planned Parenthood can no longer provide any prenatal care so they are born weaker. All the water supplies are filled with runoff sludge from pipelines and big oil companies pollution from, you know, Russia With Love and no one will be around to repair the damage because all the hard working blue collar workers will be out of jobs because no businesses will pay them a living wage and without workers , those businesses closed anyway and besides so many people have been deported no one was around anymore to "live the American dream" except rich white men in suits living in golden towers.

And then they will all die, too.

Ho hum, just another day under Republican power.
