Since 1998, there has been an unexplained "standstill" in the heating of the Earth's atmosphere.
Writing in Nature Geoscience, the researchers say this will reduce predicted warming in the coming decades.
But long-term, the expected temperature rises will not alter significantly.

None of the deniers will bother reading to the "we're still screwed in the end anyway" part and just shout about the "we're not warming" bit...

I thought that global temperatures always fluctuated, they were never just going to continue to go up in a straight line...
It sounds, to my ears at least, that this is just more re-arranging the deckchairs, because in the end, we're still going to hit the proverbial iceberg....
