Al Gore calling for Your Help Today

From my inbox.
Please keep this kicked.

We have a rare opportunity to make sure our government takes carbon pollution seriously.

Our federal government recently developed something called the "Social Cost of Carbon." It estimates the tremendous costs people like you and I are paying because of unchecked carbon pollution. Now, the federal government is proposing to strengthen the Social Cost of Carbon from $23.80 per metric ton of carbon pollution to $37. That's why I'm writing to you today.

For the past few weeks, we've been collecting comments that support a stronger Social Cost of Carbon. Already more than 24,000 concerned Americans have sent their comments into the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). On Monday, the comment period ends. We need your voice as critical part of this effort to strengthen the Social Cost of Carbon.

Climate deniers and corporate polluters are doing everything they can to weaken or eliminate this essential tool, and they've got powerful friends in Congress working on their behalf. That's why it's up to us to ensure this Social Cost of Carbon is as strong as possible.

It's time to take action. It's time to stop letting climate denial go unchallenged. It's time to recognize the costs we're paying for carbon pollution. It's time to put a market price on carbon pollution. It's time we act together so we can solve the climate crisis.

With just days remaining until the comment period closes, I sincerely hope you'll join me in supporting a strong Social Cost of Carbon. Add your name today and, together, we'll take another step towards a market price on carbon pollution.

Thank you for all that you do for our future,

Al Gore
