If we don't have to do anything, everything goes our way, and we still get more money out of it, then I guess that is simple.

(11,175 posts)3. One issue he doesn't address is trade agreements.
His solution includes a tariff on goods imported to the United States from countries that don't have a carbon fee. This would be necessary to make the solution work, but my guess is that it would be prohibited by existing trade agreements like WTO. If so, then that would be another obstacle to be dealt with.
Still, it's an interesting idea, worth some attention.
