One of the largest natural gas projects in the world cleared another hurdle Thursday, with the Department of Energy approving a conditional license that would allow the Alaska LNG project to one day export liquefied natural gas to Asia.

Besides the environmental damage of building pipelines, and the inevitable spills and risks of gas explosions/fires, there's the hypocracy of 'all for America.'

Even KXL, which would've carried ND's toxic tarsands oil besides TransCanada's, was to terminate at a duty-free refinery port. Lost in most of hoopla was measure in bills to allow exporting US oil.

Rather hypocritical to cry about US energy independence when oil & gas companies push to export.
