Miyoko's Creamery Smoked Farmhouse vegan "cheese"

Well, I have know about Miyoko's vegan cheeses for awhile now but the price has kept me from giving them a try. Yesterday I splurged ($10 for 6.5 a ounces round) and got her aged English smoked farmhouse style cashew nut cheese. Having been disappointed by vegan cheeses in the past I wasn't entirely confident about the product. A few small slices in I wasn't entirely sure what I thought but, given a day and some more tasting, I have to say I am enjoying it!

It is akin to a smoked cheddar, though softer and creamier. It is VERY smokey, so much so that a small piece goes a long way on a bit of crusty baquette. There isn't a hint of "nut" taste that so many vegan cheeses have. It is organic and made from cashews, chickpea miso, yeast, seal salt and vegan cultures. This would make a lovely addition to a party platter. I'm going for her garlic herb next!
