South Korea's President Moon Jae-in shows unprecedented popularity in post dictatorship period
Compared to all previous elected presidents of the South Korean republic since the election of Ro Tae-woo in December 1987, democratic President Moon Jae-in enjoys the most approval among South Koreans at this point in the presidential term of office:

The positive rate of the presidential duties rose 7 percentage points from last week, and the negative rate fell 5 percentage points. The positive / negative rate by age group this week is 18 ~ 29 years old (hereinafter ’20s’) 66% / 21%, 30s 77% / 17%, 40s 85% / 12%, 50s 68% / 25%, 60 It is + 64% / 26%. By political orientation, 91% of the progressives and 69% of the middle class positively evaluated the performance of the presidency, while the conservatives showed a positive / negative rate of 46% / 44%….
…President Moon Jae-in recorded the highest positive rate at 83% in the first week of May 2018 immediately after the April 27th inter-Korean summit and Panmunjom Declaration (→ Daily No. 305 ). The positive rate in the first week of May 2019 was 45%, similar to the two years inauguration of President Kim Dae-jung (49% in February 2002) and Lee Myung-bak (44% in February 2010) (→ Daily No. 352 ). President Moon’s 71% positive rate is the highest in the past three years.
