Russia agrees to turn over weapons, military equipment to Ukraine

MOSCOW -- Russia's president says Ukraine could regain some arms and equipment of military units in Crimea that did not switch their loyalty to Russia.

Russian forces took control of Ukrainian military installations in Crimea this month after Russia formally annexed the Black Sea peninsula. Some Ukrainian servicemen reportedly joined Russian forces, while others withdrew.

Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu on Friday told President Vladimir Putin that the Ukrainian withdrawal from Crimea is complete, Russian news agencies reported.

Putin also approved Shoigu's proposal to turn over arms and equipment of the units still loyal to Ukraine, the reports said. No specifics were given on quantities, types of hardware, or timing.

I assume this means all of the ships blockaded and stormed. I assume all of the equipment separated by force from the Ukraine military and navy by preventing them from getting to their planes and helicopters to move them. I assume all small arms and ammunition that were forcibly removed. I assume all stockpiles and depots.

Stayed loyal for how long until they were stormed or after?

Ukraine is kind of contrary to the narrative that Russia will invade Ukraine, no?

And the forced removal was essentially bloodless, that is the amazing part.
