A Jewish man has described how he feared for his life after being beaten by a group of men armed with a knife as he left a synagogue near Paris. The latest anti-Semitic attack comes as France vows to tackle a rise in anti-Jewish incidents.

(6,171 posts)I have a very strong dislike for mixing anti-Semitism with hasbara, and I will argue against it whenever it occurs. For example, the reference to the BNVCA group in the OP is superfluous, as the article in Le Parisien had no reference to that group at all. I feel that it's wrong to use anti-Semitism to sneak in another agenda, and that goes both ways. I don't think anti-Semitism should be used to justify an anti-Zionist argument.
Now, to the actual OP. An average Frenchman is beaten up on the streets of Paris just because he's Jewish... that's outrageous. This literally shouldnt be allowed in France. France is a civilized country, not a Banana republic. Shame on them.
