50 wounded in Gaza blast, including women and children

Published 15 May 2015

A boy who was injured by an explosion at a Hamas training camp at a hospital in Beit Lahiya, Gaza.

The blast is suspected to be a result of an explosion of a bomb that was left over from last year’s Israeli deadly attack on Gaza A blast in the Gaza Strip injured more than 50 people, Palestinian officials said on Thursday. Eyad Bozum, spokesman for Gaza's Interior Ministry, said that the explosion is suspected to be from a bomb left over from last year's Israeli war on Gaza. The incident occured in Beit Lahia neigborhood located in the north of the strip.

"Dozens of people were injured, several of them seriously," Gaza health official Ashraf al-Kidra told the Associated Press on Thursday. A doctor at Al-Awda Hospital, Baker Abu Safia, said that most of the people who were brought to his hospital were women and children.

Last year's 50-day attack on the strip left more than 2,100 people dead, most of whom were civilians. More than 20,000 homes were entirely destroyed because of Israeli heavy shelling.

1. Dozens Injured at Hamas Camp

A huge explosion at a training camp for Hamas militants in northern Gaza wounded more than 60 people, including women and children, on Thursday night, Hamas officials said. The military wing of Hamas, the Islamic group that controls Gaza, said in a statement that the blast was caused by an Israeli missile left over from the war last summer. But Iyad al-Buzom, a spokesman for the Interior of Ministry in Gaza, described it in a Facebook post more vaguely as an “internal explosion.” Witnesses said the blast, in Beit Lahiya, damaged nearby houses and caused power failures in the area.

2. More likely a Hamas work accident than Israeli missile left over...

Even as your article attempts to blame Israel .

More importantly is what were children doing at a Hamas military installation ?

It was evidently a big blast.

That's what bombs do, after all.

But almost always assume the Israeli government is lying with whatever they put out.

And some people don't care about the fact that children were injured as long as Israel can be blamed.

The injury to these innocent Gaza Children is just horrible....

Are you saying that you have no sorrow for these injured children?

I don't believe it is, either.

Why?

Well, because I've seen no shortage of whites profess to be very concerned about "black-on-black crime." These same people, of course, usually have no concern whatsoever for the rampant police brutality and over-sentencing that disproportionately affects black and brown people. In fact they use "black-on-black crime" to justify exactly that!

Similarly, it seems that you are only concerned with the lives of Palestinian, when you can blame other Palestinian for what happens to them. You're not the least bit concerned with what Israel does to Palestinians - in fact you apparently support every instance of violence and oppression. and you then try to use "Palestinian-on-Palestinian crime" to justify that support.

Of course, maybe this time you really mean it. Maybe this time you care. I suppose i'll never know. But nobody here has any cause to take you at your word this time. After all, we've never seen anything but support from you when the very same people are being bombed, missiled, shot, bulldozed, or otherwise harmed by Israel by the thousands, year after year after year. Yet here you are suddenly deeply concerned about fifty people. Why?
