Source: Times of IsraelIsraeli authorities dont want to expose intelligence sources who helped identify those behind a terrorist attack that left 3 dead
Israeli authorities know the identity of the perpetrator of Julys Jewish terrorist attack which left three Palestinians dead in Duma, Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon said Wednesday, but the person isnt being brought to justice in order to avoid exposing intel sources in court.
The defense minister told a closed meeting of about 20 young Likud party members Wednesday that the defense establishment knows who firebombed the Dawabshe home in the West Bank village of Duma, Haaretz reported Thursday.
The July 31 attack in the northern West Bank village of Duma killed 18-month-old Ali Dawabsha. His father Saad and mother Riham succumbed to severe burns the following week and in early September, respectively. Four-year-old Ahmed, still hospitalized at Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer near Ramat Gan with burns over much of his body, is the sole surviving member of the family.
A senior IDF officer told reporters on Tuesday that security agencies had no doubt that the Duma attack was perpetrated by Jews.

(68,868 posts)avoid accountability to protect "intelligence sources." They're sheltering Jewish terrorists rather than prosecuting them.

Awesomely confidence-inspiring statement.
I don't recall such concerns when they bulldoze the family homes of suspected Palestinian terrorists. Or massacring several hundred kids in Gaza.

Dual system of law
The Emergency Regulations (Offenses in the Occupied Territories Jurisdiction and Legal Assistance), 5727-1967, enacted by the Minister of Defense in July 1967, provided that Israeli civilians who have committed offenses in the Occupied Territories can be tried also in Israeli civil courts. This created extra-territorial personal status for Israeli civilians in the Occupied Territories. Since then, the Knesset has regularly extended these regulations.
Being subject to the Israeli judicial system, settlers enjoy liberties and legal guarantees that are denied Palestinian defendants in the Occupied Territories charged with the same offense. The authority to arrest an individual, the maximum period of detention before being brought before a judge, the right to meet with an attorney, the protections available to defendants at trial, the maximum punishment allowed by law, and the release of prisoners before completion of their sentence all of these differ greatly in the two systems of law, with the Israeli system providing the suspect and defendant with many more protections.
Thus, different legal systems are applied to two populations residing in the same area, and the nationality of the individual determines the system and court in which he or she is tried. This situation violates the principle of equality before the law, especially given the disparity between the two systems. It also violates the principle of territoriality, conventional in modern legal approaches, according to which a single system of law must apply to all persons living in the same territory.

This isn't specifically about killing Palestinians with impunity, but I hope you'll be able to understand anyway.

Could you help a bit?
Would you please list 10 Jewish Israelis (military or civilian) that in the last 20 years (completed in the last 10 years) have served more than a 10 year sentence (or are currently serving a more than 10 year sentence) for crimes against Palestinians only. I saw a list for crimes of more than 20 years ago, but something more modern would be helpful.
This would be nice to have for debate against those that say there is no justice for non-Jewish people in Israel and the OPT. It would be nice to finally put this to rest.

(2,521 posts)Israeli once linked to some older cases, but nothing new.
Would really like the information in order to refute these claims. You say that they are all big news. Please list them so that I can settle this with people who say that there is no justice for Palestinians.
