Note that this was written over two weeks ago.
Catching the murderers of the three members of the Dawabsheh family on Monday, Riham was buried, following in the wake of her toddler son Ali and her husband Saad isnt like searching for a needle in a haystack. It can be assumed, with a fairly high degree of certainty, that the murderers came from one of the wild outposts around the Shiloh Valley. And in any case, the population on which suspicion has fallen the one from which previous arsonists and lawbreakers came isnt a group of infinite size or indeterminate character. The Shin Bet, which excels at catching Palestinian terrorists, cannot wash its hands and claim that it is unable to catch the perpetrators of this abominable crime.
Its enough to recall how the Shin Bet, the Israel Defense Forces and the police behaved after three Israeli teens were kidnapped more than a year ago, even once it was clear that they had already been killed: During Operation Brothers Keeper, thousands of soldiers flooded the West Bank and arrested some 400 Palestinians, including members of the Palestinian parliament, who had no connection to the murder. And the murderers end came swiftly: They were liquidated.
Israel reacted savagely at that time, but it proved that every Palestinian terrorist will end up either in jail or in the grave. The burden of proof that Israel doesnt have a policy of discriminating among the perpetrators of vile crimes on the basis of their nationality now rests on the investigative agencies and the government that gives them their orders. As long as the perpetrators of the triple murder in Duma continue to walk free, it will be impossible to dispel the suspicion that this haplessness was not inevitable.

The Israeli government has no interest in catching and prosecuting the perps--that would involve offending the Jewish Taliban in the settlements.
A few administrative detentions for pr purposes, nothing more.
Baruch Goldstein would have walked in today's Israel.

(58,724 posts)The Israeli government desperately wants to catch and prosecute the perps.
The administrative detentions of known extremists was an aggressive attempt to try to get information on who committed these crimes.
The comment about Baruch Goldstein is just disgusting and, of course, false.

Of course, they later walked it back and said "no, our intelligence sources actually suck and we don't know who did it.
They arrested 400 Palestinians in order to find out who murdered Jewish boys and started bombing Gaza. They've put 3--count 'em 3--in temporary administrative detention, with ZERO arrests.

(14,851 posts)It's fascinating that you support Bernie Sanders...
Bernie is one of the most pro Israel candidates in the race , with a voting record in the senate to prove it.
If anyone expressed those views on the campaign they would be disavowed the same day.
There are other candidates and parties with the same views as yourself you know?
Such as The Green Party.
Go Bernie go...I can support him with the knowledge that myself and his views on the Jewish State are identical...

They are diametrically opposite to Bernie Sanders views on Israel , 180 degree difference.

Gideon Levy Sep 24, 2015
If only Israel had a Jeremy Corbyn or an Alexis Tsipras, at the very least a Bernie Sanders, to stand out against all of our gray monotony. We can only envy the soaring fortunes of these exceptional politicians in their respective countries. Our spare political map contains not a single representative of the species.

The hatred, violence and loss of life that define this conflict make living an ordinary life a constant struggle for both peoples. We must work with those Israeli and Palestinian leaders who are committed to peace, security and statehood rather than to empty rhetoric and violence. A two-state solution must include compromises from both sides to achieve a fair and lasting peace in the region. The Palestinians must fulfill their responsibilities to end terrorism against Israel and recognize Israels right to exist. In return, the Israelis must end their policy of targeted killings, prevent further Israeli settlements on Palestinian land and prevent the destruction of Palestinian homes, businesses and infrastructure.
Sound good?

(14,851 posts)That poster in particular is a one issue antiZionist , with the most extremist anti Israel views you would find anywhere on DU....vitriol against the Jewish State that is incomparable to any poster here on DU.
Extreme opposite of Bernie Sanders view and more in line with what his beloved Mondoweiss posts ( he posts just about every article of Mondoweiss here on DU)

(14,851 posts)It is to give credibility to post on a Democratic Party forum...
There's many other forums with such toxic views but if your a single issue "antiZionist"
Posting OTT posts about The Jewish state daily here - you need credibility.
The other ones not single issue he's a Democrat and very strong opinions but active all over.
For lifelong Democratic Party supporters and campaign volunteers like myself there's no problem at all with our views on Israel- my Israel opinion is identical to Bernie Sanders.
