Hamas leader in Gaza declares intifada as deadly attacks continue

Hamas’s leader in Gaza has declared the current unrest in Jerusalem and the West Bank an intifada, as six Palestinians were shot dead protesting at the border fence, further raising the stakes after a week of escalating violence.

The comments by Ismail Haniyeh contradicted recent remarks by Fatah’s leadership, including the Palestinian president, Mahmoud Abbas. There has been increasingly widespread use of the hashtag #intifada on Palestinian social media.

In a sermon for Friday prayers at a mosque in Gaza City, Haniyeh said: “We are calling for the strengthening and increasing of the intifada. It is the only path that will lead to liberation. Gaza will fulfil its role in the Jerusalem intifada and it is more than ready for confrontation.”

Palestinians are being set on fire - literally - by Israelis. The authorities knows who is responsible for these attacks - they have admitted such - but will make no move to apprehend or try them, for fear of "exposing sources." The arsonists and terrorists are being given leave by the Israeli government to continue their attacks.

Instead, that governnent continues sending more of these criminals into occupied territory and gives them armed military backup.

Now, think about it. Palestinians are under attack, in their homes, by what amount to armed gangs from somewhere else. The authorities charged with protecting the Palestinians are instead protecting and even aiding those gangs. What options exist for Palestinians? Their lives are on the line and there is nowhere to turn.

They attempt to put out the fire of intifada with the fire of military power.

One definition of insane behavior is repeating the same behavior and expecting a different result.

Palestinians aren't being "set on fire - literally - by Israelis". That is such a ridiculous statement that it makes it impossible to take anything else you've written here seriously. A horrible crime was committed. Such things, lamentably, happen everywhere in the world. To take such a crime and extrapolate it in the ridiculous fashion you did represents propaganda of the most vile sort.

Your preposterous statement that the "arsonists and terrorists are being given leave to continue their attacks" would logically imply that there are massive waves of arson attacks across Palestinian villages resulting in countless Palestinians being burned alive by Jewish terrorists with the support of the Israeli government. Obviously, any rational person knows that this is false and nothing of the kind if happening or would happen.

But this is how the propagandists operate. By creating a fictitious narrative where "the government sends criminals with armed military backup". Sort of akin to people who believe there are FEMA camps in the US and other such nonsense.

Think about this. Palestinians are not under attack, in their homes, by armed gangs. In fact, many Palestinians never encounter a single Israeli at any point in their lives. Israelis are not even permitted to set foot in Gaza City or Ramallah two of the largest Palestinian population centers in Gaza and the West Bank respectively.

You seem to be trying to create a narrative that justifies Palestinians stabbing Israeli children or throwing rocks at passing cars with these hyperbolic melodramatic cliches like "their lives are on the line" and "there is nowhere to turn".

Like everything else you've written on the subject, it's absolute bullshit.

The cluelessness and lack of understanding for what is really motivating this current spasm of violence (hint: Jews praying where Muslims don't want Jews to be praying) is symptomatic of the usually ignorance one finds among people who have never set foot in the region, nor spoken two words to an actual Israeli or Palestinian in the real world.
