Israel/Palestine
Related: About this forumWhat does Israel want to say to the world?
Israel has something it would like to say to the world. Now that the Palestinians have been angered once again and the period of calmness has ended, Israel wants to tell the world that the tension and clashes that have been occurring over the past few weeks have been motivated by a deep-seated hatred of Jews. That is basically all the Jewish state wants us to know.
Israeli propaganda does not reveal the actual reasons for all of this Palestinian anger and aggression, and it does not dare to use terms such as military occupation or settlement expansion. It also typically refrains from using important terms such as Palestine or Palestinian people, as such terms are illogical in Israeli discourse there is simply no such thing as Palestine or Palestinians, merely unruly subjects of the settler-colonial Israeli project.
What Israel wants to say to the world today is that those very same Palestinians should shower the occupation forces with flowers and send out greeting cards to those who have stolen their land and fields, and that the long lines of Palestinians should smile at the occupation forces and the humiliating military checkpoints that have fragmented the West Bank. Israel also wants to proclaim that Arab Jerusalemites should open the doors of Al-Aqsa Mosque every morning and welcome the provocative stormings of those who are dreaming of the mosques destruction, while the people of Hebron should not miss a chance to take selfies with the closest armed settler who acts as if he is entitled to the land.
What we are to understand from Israeli propaganda is that life under Israeli military rule is heaven on Earth and that the Palestinians should enjoy this ideal opportunity to bask in the glory that is Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East.

(58,724 posts)That's what the "provocative storming" actually is.
And that's what is actually causing the current wave of violence (as the stabbers have admitted).
So here is the message being sent from many corners of the international community:
A small group of Jews praying quietly near a mosque is so egregiously insulting to Islam that stabbing random Israelis in the streets is an entirely justifiable response.

(45,850 posts)of violence on the part of the Palestinians occurs in a vacuum, that it is a singular act unrelated to anything else unless of course it can be blamed on Islam, or keeping people so focused on the individual trees that they do not ever see the forest

To say that Islam has nothing to do with the violence is preposterous.
Hopefully that's not actually what you are saying.

(45,850 posts)I understand and still you are proving my point, it is anything but the occupation it's all those crazy Muslims
oberliner
(58,724 posts)Just so I am understanding your point correctly, are you suggesting that the perceived desecration of the Al-Aqsa mosque is not what is motivating the recent violent attacks?

(26,579 posts)I have to wonder how these same people would react to Muslims wishing to pray at the Western Wall.
I would guess that's the point at which this sort of thing would begin taking on more "complexity" than simple "woman hatred" or "Muslim hatred".

Be that as it may, it seems to be the case that both (1) Palestinians are facing harsh circumstances that cause them anger (2) there is a deep seated hatred of Jews among Palestinian Arabs, and in the greater Arab and Muslim world.
