Egypt to try 19 Americans in case straining ties

Ignoring a U.S. threat to cut off aid, Egypt on Sunday referred 19 Americans and 24 other employees of nonprofit groups to trial before a criminal court on accusations they illegally used foreign funds to foment unrest in the country.

DAMN another theory shot to hell. What was the theory again?...oh yea, that Egypt will do what Israel wants because they are afraid of the "consequences." Those "consequences" was once explain to me that its the aid that the US gives to egypt. And since Israel "controls the congress" they also control the purse strings to Egypt and Egypt does not want to endanger that....or so went the theory.

oops, funny how that, turned out to be wrong. I guess Egypt isn't that afraid of losing the US aid.
That being the case I guess were back to the Egyptian/Gazan border where Egypt owns it and makes their own decisions and apparently doesn't really care what the US or israel thinks or what the UN thinks or what the Palestinians think...at least we cleared that up.

unless there is another theory about "consequences" that has yet to be explained to me, I'm all ears (I'll bet this one is even vaguer than the last..)
