Iran either has solved its Stuxnet virus problem, or its ruled by 'complete idiots,' experts say

Engineers in Iran have successfully neutralized and removed the Stuxnet computer virus from the nation’s nuclear equipment, Reuters reports, citing unidentified U.S. and European officials.

The source and origin of the virus, which has infected Iranian centrifuges used to enrich uranium since as early as 2009, remains unconfirmed, although many experts suspect it was created by Israel -- and possibly the U.S.

The U.S. and European officials told Reuters that their experts agreed Stuxnet has been disabled by Iran, but intense secrecy surrounding the subject makes it hard to determine when this occurred

<snip>

"If Iran would not have gotten rid of Stuxnet by now (or even months ago), that would indicate that they were complete idiots," German computer security consultant Ralph Langner said.

I dunno, they may have cleaned it out by now, but I'm inclined to go with the "complete idiots" theory, especially after today's botched terrorist attacks.

I mean just the fact that they are trying to gode the US into war tells me that. Whether we like to admit it or not, our Military is very very good at destroying countries, not so good at rebuilding them but very good at destroying.

The Iranians don't have much of a history in the modern era of starting wars.

The United States on the other hand ...

It's not for nothing that their top techies studied abroad.

Getting a flunky to deliver a bomb in Thailand is a much different proposition from having enough people with programming and computer science know-how to deal with a piece of malicious software. Their technical people are competent and well paid and cared for by the regime. To deliver bombs, you hire people who aren't all that bright in the first place.

So there were a couple of "attacks" very similar to the explosion in Iran which killed a scientist but miraculously, these attacks are all botched and no Israeli is harmed? OK
