Israel's Lieberman rejoining government after acquittal
By Maayan Lubell
JERUSALEM | Wed Nov 6, 2013 4:56am EST
(Reuters) - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed his former foreign minister, Avigdor Lieberman, back to government on Wednesday after the ultra-nationalist politician was acquitted of corruption charges.
Lieberman's return to office could further complicate already troubled U.S.-sponsored peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians.
A settler living on occupied land where Palestinians seek statehood, Lieberman has been outspokenly skeptical of the negotiations that resumed in July after a three-year impasse, saying that reaching a permanent peace deal was impossible.

He did not say what role Lieberman would take in government, but Netanyahu has kept the foreign ministry portfolio open for him pending the verdict. A political source said he "fully expected Lieberman to be foreign minister again".

All hail Lieberman !!!
The lights dim, the Yisrael Beiteinu banner is unrolled, and Lieberman addresses the nation:
Good Morning, Israel, he begins. Citizens, second-class citizens, third-class citizens and Arabs. I declare the founding of a Jewish state called Yisrael Beiteinu. Applause. (the audience obediently applauds, then stops as soon as Lieberman raises his right hand).
Kitzis interrupts again: Mr. Lieberman, with all due respect, theres no guarantee that you will even be a senior minister in the coming government let alone prime minister. And theres also the matter of the police investigations [into your affairs].
Lieberman: Dont worry, I will investigate the police fairly and firmly (the slogan used by the army to describe the means used to evacuate settlers from Gush Katif in 2005).
