Report: Jordan rebuffs Israeli request for Jewish prayer space on Temple Mount

"Jerusalem must be the capital of the state of Palestine," says Palestinian Authority president • Abbas says Grand Imam Ahmed Al-Tayeb "has ensured that this should be our goal" and that the Al-Aqsa Mosque should be kept "safe and sound" in Muslim hands.

Jordan is completely opposed to granting Jews any space to pray on the Temple Mount, a senior Jordanian official told Jordanian news outlet Al-Ghad Al-Ordoni on Tuesday.

Speaking to the Jordanian outlet, Abdul Nasser Nasser, Jordan's top legal adviser for Islamic and Christian property in Jerusalem, said Amman had rejected an Israeli request to give Jewish worshippers a limited, several-meters space on the Temple Mount grounds in which to pray.

"Jordan will never allow extremist Jews to enter the courtyards of the holy Al-Aqsa mosque to pray or allow their presence in any part of the 144 dunams (35.6 acres), which belong solely to Muslims," said Nassar.

would not even think of praying on the temple mount.

This effort is led by a few idiotic extremists.

If Jews were to pray on the temple mount, it will only lead to problems.

They should be allowed to visit as tourists, as would anyone else of other religions.

Plus Orthodox Jews will not even step foot on the Temple Mount, forget about praying there, lest they accidentally step foot on the holy of holies.

The attempts to pray there are led by more secular extremists, or by those who think that they can build a third temple there.
