JERUSALEM (Ma'an) -- Dozens of ultra-Orthodox Jews hurled stones at cars traveling on route 1 highway in Jerusalem on Saturday evening, in what victims claimed were racially-motivated assaults targeting Palestinians.

Eyewitnesses told a Ma'an reporter that about 60 ultra-Orthodox Jewish men hurled rocks at vehicles driven by Palestinians with Israeli registration plates and assaulted a bicyclist before stealing his bike.

Abu al-Hummus added that when his car was hit, he stopped and stepped out, but attackers continued to pelt him with stones injuring his foot.

A group of Israeli troops and police horsemen arrived on the scene, Abu al-Hummus said, but they merely watched the assailants and did not intervene.

I find it curious that protesting Palestinians attract IDF bullets while attacking Israelis attract IDF protection.

Try walking through Mea Sherim on a Saturday .
The Nature Karte are the biggest supporters of the Palestinians amongst all Jewish groups .
My advice to Israel is draft them to the army and cut their welfare.

4. I guess the most important part of the article that you have glossed over

was the IDF protection that the Orthodox, and quite frankly other settlers have received, as they continue to assault Palestinian lives and property.

Furthermore, the observation that I left off with was that settlers get IDF protection during attacks on Palestinians while Palestinians receive IDF bullets was an honest one.

On the other hand, it's always amusing to compare reactions.

"Jews throw rocks at Palestinians" provokes comments on how horribly dangerous stoning is.

"Palestinians throw rocks at Jews" provokes comments on how they're just stones, how dangerous could it be?

(With a different set of reactions for stones thrown off overpasses that hurtle through windshields at 30 mph wrt passengers' faces.)

7. That was not the observation of the OP.

When Palestinians as much as protest they are shot at, teargassed and in some cases killed. Some times they don't even have to protest for those things to happen.

The last few incidents where settlers or the fundies in Israel have attacked Palestinians the IDF has been right along side doing nothing.

That is not only illegal and immoral, but against most if not all international norms.
