It is time Israel fought back against those who boycott the Jewish state, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Monday, dubbing them "anti-Semites."
The comments come as concerns grow in Israel over a Palestinian-led movement of boycott, divestment and sanctions knows by its acronym, BDS. The boycott has been growing recently, mainly in Europe, where some businesses and pension funds have cut investments or trade with Israeli firms they say are connected to West Bank settlements.
Speaking to a group of visiting Jewish-American leaders, Netanyahu said it is time for Israel to "delegitimize the delegitimizers."
"In the past anti-Semites boycotted Jewish businesses and today they call for the boycott of the Jewish state, and by the way, only the Jewish state," Netanyahu said. "I think that it is important that the boycotters be exposed for what they are, they are classical anti-Semites in modern garb," Netanyahu said.

(25,699 posts)"Antisemite" is a word that has been ground into meaninglessness by Zionists insisting everyone who argues with them is an antisemite. When deciding to not buy strawberry-flavored syrup for sodastream is placed on the same level as doing Nazi salutes at the Auschwitz crematoria, what can we expect but people like those quenelle-ing jokers doing what they're doing?

(3,385 posts)What matters is what you believe and say and do. If you believe or say or do things that are anti-Semitic, then you're anti-Semitic, whether you're Jewish or not. Why do you think it would matter?

(12,606 posts)of an apartheid state is mot anti-Semitism; no matter how hard some try to spin it.
I just find it comical that Bibi is throwing his sh!t around without thinking that Jews would ever consider a boycott of Illegal Israeli commerce.
Does he label them anti-Semites then?
The fact is he is an idiot.

(3,385 posts)Or at least seriously disconnected from reality. Advocating a boycott that has as its goal or inevitable result the end of Israel as a Jewish state is antisemitic.

Israel is an apartheid state as well as a supporter of illegal collonization.

Either you're for an ethnocracy derived and enforced through victimizing and abusing those the state considers non-persons, or you hate Jews.
Because apparently that's how Zionists see Jews.

(340 posts)However, depending on a given boycotter's overall conduct, such bigotry can be inferred to some extent, similar to how reasonable assumptions can be made about Tea Partiers when they go on rants about how Obama is a Socialist Kenyan Muslim setting up death panels and trying to destroy America.
I can see the argument of a boycott for the sake of pressuring Netanyahu as valid. However, seeing the degree of demonization and disproportionate rhetoric aimed at Israel among those in the movement, I'm left with the impression that many view it not as a pragmatic political tool but as a means to damage Israel.
