US report raps Israel over settler attacks on Palestinians

State Department report finds settler attacks on Palestinians 'were largely unprosecuted'; Livni: 'Hate crimes... disfigure our impression on the outside world'.

WASHINGTON - A new American report on terrorism strongly criticizes Israel for its lackluster response to attacks by extremist settlers against the Palestinian population and their property.

"Attacks by extremist Israeli settlers against Palestinian residents, property, and places of worship in the West Bank continued and were largely unprosecuted according to UN and NGO sources," says the State Department's annual Country Report on Terrorism.

Justice Minister Tzipi Livni responded to the report Wednesday saying, "Hate crimes that have rode into Israel from Yitzhar destroys us from within and disfigures our impression on the outside world."

Livni said that the report, "unveils what we already knew: these crimes, known as 'price tag' crimes, inflict massive damage in Israel... as a nation that must bring these criminals to justice."

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM: Israeli police on Thursday challenged Washington's inclusion of Jewish extremist attacks on Palestinians in a global terror report, saying such incidents could not be likened to militant attacks.

For the first time, the State Department's 2013 Country Reports on Terrorism, published Wednesday, included a reference to a growing wave of racist anti-Palestinian vandalism, euphemistically known as "price tag" attacks.

"Attacks by extremist Israeli settlers against Palestinian residents, property, and places of worship in the West Bank continued and were largely unprosecuted," the report said, citing UN and NGO data.

But Israel police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said the incidents were far from the global terror threats outlined in the report.

policies all these years helped to create this environment in the first place.

Bullshit of the day: "You cannot compare whatsoever between terrorist acts, the cold-blooded killing of Israelis, and... vandalism on that level."

Bibi has finally realized he had to address this publicly.

This sort of thing gets ugly real quick, once it becomes popular.

That is pretty much what "doesn't reflect our values" means anywhere you go.

expect to control over 500 thousand illegal Israeli settlers when some of them decide to go on a rampage against Palestinians?

What is even more hypocritical is that one can ask how many Palestinians have been shot and killed by the IDF, shot and beaten by settlers in the West bank, how many of their groves chopped or burnt down, how much of their land has been illegally confiscated and now Netanyahoo is going to speak about values?

What a f@cker.
