Number of Palestinians killed in al-Shuja'iya [East Gaza] rises to 40
Gaza, July 20 (Petra) -- The number of Palestinians killed by Israeli shelling in the al-Shuja'iya neighborhood of eastern Gaza rose to 40 on Sunday, while more than 200 people were injured, according to Palestinian medical sources.
The sources added that some 7 Palestinians were killed by Israeli warplanes in various parts of the Gaza Strip.
Palestinian Health Minister Ashraf Al Qidrah said that Israeli forces prevented the Red Cross medical staff from entering the neighborhood, under the pretext that it is a closed military operations area.
