Gaza imam calls for Jews’ extermination

A Hamas-affiliated imam in Gaza said the group will “exterminate” Jews, and launched an anti-Semitic diatribe in a sermon broadcast on Hamas’s Al-Aqsa TV station

A video of the sermon, made available on Tuesday by the Middle East Media Research Institute, shows the cleric speaking last week at a mosque in Dir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.


“”Our doctrine in fighting you (the Jews) is that we will totally exterminate you,” he says. “We will not leave a single one of you alive, because you are alien usurpers of the land and eternal mercenaries.”

“Research the history, my brothers. Wherever the Jews lived, they spread corruption,” he cries out.

“Oh Muslims, didn’t you notice that Allah said: ‘They spread in THE land…’ The definite article in ‘THE land’ means the entire land. ‘They spread in the land corruption, and Allah loves not the corrupters.’”

22. When extremism meets extremism what do you expect?

My Irish ancestors hated their British overlords and my paternal aunt, a 2nd generation Irish-American, told me never to trust the British. Oppression breeds hatred and mistrust that takes root in following generations. Hatred born of oppression is aborted when justice and economic opportunities are fairly administered.

While I oppose what this imam is publicly saying, he's in the middle of a major crisis of his people. He's also part of a people who are the most destitute on the planet even when the rockets and bombs are not flying. When there is a ceasefire, Israel continues the oppressive siege and blockade against the Palestinian people in Gaza and continues stealing land in the West Bank. The siege and blockade are the acts at the origin of Hamas' rockets being launched ineffectively against Israeli towns and settlements.

Since Israel has the 5th most powerful military on the planet, this imam's outburst has no immediate consequence. But since the Arab and Palestinian birth rates are higher than the Jewish ones, the real threat to Israeli Jews is the non-Jewish population explosion that could or will make Jews a definite minority in their land by the next generation. I suspect that is at the heart of Israel's brutal assault, referred to by Israelis as "mowing the lawn," upon the Palestinians in Gaza.

All Israel is doing today with their brutal assault upon the Palestinians in Gaza is sowing the seeds of anti-Jewish hatred in the next generation of Palestinians. Hamas, it is said, was born out of the first Intifada. While Israel publicly talks about ridding Gaza of Hamas, those left behind are more likely to be more radical than Hamas, which was once supported by Israel to neuter Arafat's Palestinian Authority.

A proverb from the Old Testament said something like this, "when leaders have no vision, the people perish." The Israeli leaders today only have a vision of destroying and slaughtering Palestinians. They, not Hamas, are sowing the seeds of destruction for the state of Israel. The same could be said of Hamas, but the Palestinians are a stateless people thanks to Israelis reneging on previous truces and treaties. The people of Gaza are refugees from towns now occupied by Israeli Jews, who are cheering the Israeli bombings.

Israel today is proving Gandhi right, that Israel had no right to exist in the land of Palestine without the consent of the indigenous people and their neighbors. By forcing the state of Israel upon Palestine, America, Western Europe and the Zionists committed the last act of Western European colonialism in the 20th century and thus created the mess we see today with no hope for peace in the future.

As always... let's focus on what Palestinians say, and not what israel DOES.

Given what people in Gaza are experiencing right now, I find it amazing that 1.8 million people aren't calling for Israel to be exterminated. Look at how the US reacted after one attack on 9/11.... we were willing to take down the world. Imagine that feeling 100-fold...
