Abusive phonecalls made to Belfast Rabbi David Singer

The synagogue in north Belfast was attacked twice last month
A Belfast rabbi has said the situation in Gaza has resulted in attacks on the Jewish community living in Northern Ireland.

Rabbi David Singer said as well as attacks on property, there had abusive phonecalls.

"We had a brick through the window of the synagogue, unpleasant phonecalls.

"Unpleasant on a personal nature and unpleasant on an anti-Israel nature, unpleasant on an anti-Semitic nature as well," he said.

"These are phonecalls to us personally."

On Tuesday, it emerged that a plaque erected to former Israeli president Chaim Herzog at his former home in north Belfast had to be removed after a number of recent attacks.

Last month windows were smashed at a synagogue on north Belfast's Somerton Road.

There were no angry mobs, no sprayed slogans or swastikas, no red paint splashed about, and nothing was set on fire.

This is par for the course for all institutions of worship in Belfast, they're all targets for drunken kids who have good reason to hate all religious institutions.

If he's really getting the calls, you can bet the punks responsible will get kneecapped. Paramilitaries on both sides do that to hooligans like car thieves and other punks.

The overstatement of what actually has happened always makes people look like mugs when the truth comes out.

that said, better than Israeli-Palestinian phonecalls.

*Ring Ring (maybe it's Doot Doot over there)*
"Hello?"
"This is the IDF, get out of your house, we're blowing it up."

In all seriousness...

is it ring or doot? I'm really interested.

The AntiSemitism in Ireland was because of what's happening in Israel .

Do you think that's legitimate for Irish ( even if they were Palestinians ) to hate on Israel by hating on an Irish Jew.

Thankfully, I'm free to make reference to whatever the hell I want.

And for the love of (whatever your preferred deity is) STOP PUTTING WORDS IN PEOPLES MOUTHS!
It makes you look like...well, TOS probably prevents me from satisfactory expressing my opinion at
this point, so allow me to at least slow down and restate Line 1 (the first, the main tag line in my
response, the one in bold)

I...don't...condone...abusive...phonecalls.

Really grasping at the crazy straws.

Some need to play the victim even when 448 Palestinian children have been murdered in cold blood.

Is a smokescreen to play the victim as much as possible, and it is pretty revolting given that hundreds of children were just snuffed out by Israel.

Your credibility would be bolstered by checking facts before you make statements.

The rabbi lived in Israel for 40 years and served in the IDF - although it does not clearly state whether he has an Israeli passport.
