Author and talk-show celebrity Irit Linur explained how pleased she was to see the Israeli officer slam the butt of his rifle into the face of the (unarmed, nonviolent) Danish peace activist. She said his golden hair made him look like a member of the Hitlerjugend, and said about him and other activists: "they were born anti-Semites and will die anti-Semites" - a shameful slander, especially considering what the Danes, whose underground was granted a blanket designation as Righteous Among the Nations for their efforts during World War II to rescue the Danish Jews. kind of like the Nazi version of gaydar. You can just tell, don't ask me to explain it.

Some people have such good naydar they can detect Nazis anywhere, and they usually do. British writer Howard Jacobson, for example, could detect a Nazi even if he wrapped his Iron Cross in a condom and stuffed it up his arse. Reading his latest book (the Finkler Question) he portrays London as a city where Kristallnacht looms on every page, but then again he generally does. Amazing that he still finds the strength to continue living there, frankly.

I only read the bloody thing because it won the Booker prize. Fuck me, they are handing out the Booker to some shite books lately.
