Rioting continued on Sunday in Kafr Kana in northern Israel, following the killing of a local man Friday night by police.

By mid-day police from the Northern district said they had arrested 20 Israeli Arabs, including three men in their 20s, for throwing rocks at police during rioting in the city. Other than that incident they said there have been no other arrests and so far no one has been hurt in the clashes.

The Northern District has been reinforced by hundreds of extra police officers who are on hand mainly in and around Kafr Kana to respond to violent disturbances.

The rioting in the Galilee village came as the Arab sector declared a nationwide strike to protest the killing of 22-year-old Kheir a-Din Hamdan, who was shot after he had been banging on the window of a police van while holding a knife. Police said they feared their lives were in danger but in a surveillance camera video released on Saturday Hamdan appears to have been walking away with his back to police when he was shot.

2. That logic must make Israeli actions appear civilized, appropriate, legal...yada yada.

To look to the US as a model of liberalism and civil rights protections as you do, is kind of funny..in a non-funny way.

Especially if you're not the right color...try harder next time. Are you aware of our incarceration rate in the US?

It is absurd the lengths you'll go to defend Israeli policy.

There is nothing liberal about US heavy handed police tactics nor anything liberal
about our incarceration rate..there is much racism reflected there.
