A gay US marine returning from a ten month tour of duty in Afghanistan was greeted with a marriage proposal in San Diego, California this week.
Navy veteran Cory Huston proposed to Avarice Guerrero at Camp Pendleton on Tuesday, LGBT Weekly reports.
Mr Guerrero said he was “blown away” at the proposal by his partner, who was discharged from the navy under the now-repealed Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy.
“I was shocked that after all we’d been through, he would honestly want to spend the rest of his life with someone like me.”
