It Could Happen To You... (Why Marriage Equality is important!)

Shane Bitney Crone has marked the one-year anniversary of his boyfriend of six years, Tom Bridegroom, with a devastating video, It could happen to you, chronicling what happened to him after Tom's sudden death. If there's anyone in your life who doesn't understand the familial rejection, the institutional discrimination, and the bias that gay couples face every day, here's one man's account.

Yes, I know it's 10 and a half minutes. Invest the time to educate yourself if you don't understand why it's important. Also to see the heartbreaking story of a family who shut out their son's partner.

Thankfully, most of my co-workers are out for lunch. This was absolutely heartbreaking.

Of course, we could simply make this all better and heal Shane's pain by taking the religion out of marriage and rebrand all marriages as civil unions.

I usually don't post things like this on Facebook - but I've had enough.

Someone might not have been able to see it yesterday. Your post today ensures the opportunity for others to see it. More exposure to this is a great thing
