http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1014&pid=116586

REASON FOR ALERT:

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate. (See Community Standards.)

YOUR COMMENTS:

Bigoted post by new poster #2 of 2

A randomly-selected Jury of DU members completed their review of this alert at Tue May 8, 2012, 09:00 PM, and voted 4-2 to HIDE IT.

Juror #1 voted to HIDE IT and said: No explanation given
Juror #2 voted to HIDE IT and said: The National Organization for Marriage, which helped to push this horrendous amendment, seeks to "drive a wedge between gays and blacks." This post (and a similar one I saw from the same poster in another thread) seems intent on the same. We had enough of that BS here on DU after Prop 8.
Juror #3 voted to HIDE IT and said: Agree with alerter.
Juror #4 voted to HIDE IT and said: No explanation given
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: Could be. Whatever reason, no reason to hide.
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: No explanation given

Thank you.

The comment on the alert is "Bigoted post by new poster"

The response by the juror is "Could be. Whatever reason, no reason to hide."

That reads to me like... it could be bigoted but even if it is, that's no reason to hide it. Thoughts?

Reason had to do with assertion that 'THIS people is why Obama won't come out in favor of gay marriage.'

but not pleasant to think about. I wish I were still in my old neighborhood. Could have a rational discussion with our dear neighbors.

Was comforted, years ago, when I realized recognizing differences in customs between whites and African-Americans was interesting and useful, AND DID NOT mean one was bigotted.

The poster states in the thread that...

"and THIS people is why Obama won't come out in favor of gay marriage...
Blacks as a group don't like it. He needs their votes in November."

and

"Good luck with getting blacks to accept gay marriage. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT!@...
It ain't happening. They don't like it. They won't vote for it."

It precludes the fact that there are Black LGBTers and the fact that the meme that "Black people" were the reason the Prop. 8 passed is hurtful and grossly inaccurate. IMHO of course.
