Related: About this forumA horrible week is finally over
I buried my dad on Monday, drove home on Tues, rested on Wed, and went back to work today. From the Tuesday results of Amendment 1 to that long drive on Tues this week was one horrible, long, not very good week. I put 2200 miles on my car, got my brother up to see our dad before he died, eulogized my dad, got my brother back home, and returned home myself.
I was able to bring a taste of my chorus to the funeral as I chose a song of ours for the photo slide show. I got to say goodbye to my dad, without whom I wouldn't be who I am. I don't know that I have actually come to terms with the fact he is gone. I wasn't just changed for good, I was changed for the better.

(2,849 posts)(He passed Fathers Day Eve.) Then a week with Mom taking care of the burial and things. I'm so glad I did that and had someone to hold down the fort while I was away. Best Wishes to you at this time.

I lost my dad, who was my favorite person in the world, 10 years ago. The pain's still there but after time did what only time can do, it's smiles instead of tears when I think of him.
I hope your heart heals soon and the wonderful memories you have bring you much comfort, joy. He'll always live in your heart.
:hugs:
