ACTION ALERT: Tweet for Equality Today
Mark Zuckerberg the founder of Facebook will host a high dollar fundraiser for Governor Christie on February 13. That will be just days away from the one-year anniversary of Governor Christie vetoing marriage equality. As long as the Governor stands by his pledge to block any attempt to bring the freedom to marry to all New Jerseyans, every dollar raised in support of Chris Christie is a dollar raised against equality.
Mr. Zuckerberg and Facebook have made major strides in the past few years, turning the worlds largest social network into a more open and inclusive place for the LGBT community. We find it deeply disappointing that now he chooses to support Governor Christie in his mission to suppress our rights.
Over the past two days, we have been building intense momentum in our effort to sway Mr. Zuckerberg. We have the opportunity to spark a national conversation. At this moment, we need to continue speaking loudly and invite our entire community to speak out as well.
So today we ask you to take part in one of the easiest volunteer actions in our history. Simply take to Twitter and ask Mr. Zuckerberg to take a stand for equality, using the hash tag: #UnfriendChristie
Send a personal message that relates to you or one of the messages suggested below:
