Related: About this forumConservative minister: Christians can’t drink Starbucks
http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2013/05/30/conservative-minister-christians-cant-drink-starbucks/Evangelical Christian minister and author David Barton recently told an Alabama congregation they couldnt drink Starbucks because the company was attacking God.
Biblically, there is no way a Christian can help support what is attacking God, Barton said, according to Right Wing Watch. Im sorry, youve got to find some other coffee to drink. You cant drink Starbucks and be biblically right on this thing. Its just a real simple principle.
The Seattle-based coffee company last year said support for same-sex marriage was a core value of the company. Starbucks also joined 69 other companies to urge courts to strike down the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), which defines marriages as between one man and one woman.
In response, the conservative group National Organization for Marriage launched a boycott of the coffee company.

(40,416 posts)2. Barton is a disgusting fraud.
He spouts nothing but rubbish. I am astounded that people are actually ignorant enough to believe anything that spews out of his mouth.

1. If drinking coffee can attack it
2. If it needs human intervention to prevent it from being attacked
I thought their god was omnipotent.
