My lady friend told me she's been watching, and enjoying it, finds it interesting.
I'd be interested in thoughts from people here. Thanks in advance!

(3,596 posts)It feeds into the stereotype of gay men as promiscuous and shallow.
On the very first episode two men who are supposedly in "love" (they are moving in together) have a 3-way with a stranger. The scene is fairly graphic. In the second episode they are all talking about fucking and eating ass.
I thought this was going to be a semi-serious show about 3 gay friends and their lives. While sex is certainly part of both heterosexual and homosexual lives, it seems to be about the only thing this show can present.
I will watch one more episode and it isn't more than sex I will let HBO know my thoughts and never watch it again.

(53,921 posts)I wasn't all that impressed. It was slow, but new shows, especially half-hour shows sometimes need a few episodes to hit its stride. I was a bit put off by the opening scene. There is some stereotypical behaviors exhibited, but I pretty much expect that with any show about any minority.

(29,503 posts)about us to do well, you know? And obviously, not from a sense of resentment, but from a sense that it's fun to see quality entertainment about stuff you can relate to.
Behind the Aegis
(53,921 posts)Lord knows there are plenty of primetime programs we watched that the first few episodes were 'blah,' but they have really picked up. I also agree, we do want to see "our" shows do well, simply to be able to watch something that reflects our lives. If you haven't seen it, "Sean Saves the World," is really cute.
