Fifteen of Silicon Valley's technology companies earned a perfect score in the Human Rights Campaign's annual assessment of workplace equality for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community, HRC said Wednesday.

The nation's largest LGBT civil rights organization released its 2015 Corporate Equality Index, which assessed major companies and law firms across the United States — including 93 in California.

Adobe Systems Inc., Apple Inc., Cisco Systems Inc., eBay Inc., Electronic Arts Inc., Facebook Inc., Google Inc., Hewlett-Packard Co., Intel Corp., Intuit Inc., NetApp Inc., Oracle Corp., Symantec Corp., Tesla Motors Inc. and Yahoo Inc. were among the record 366 businesses nationwide to earn a top score of 100 percent in the report, earning the distinction of "Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality."

The report officially rated a total of 781 companies. The average score for companies and law firms based in California was 88 percent.
