Disturbed by Gofundme in giving Pizza Bigots over $800,000!

Has anyone looked on the gofundme 'emergency' list? There you can see the pizza shop owners that claimed, no bragged, that they would never ever serve the LGBT community begging for money because they had to close their shop! In one day they have managed to raise over $800,000 in support of their bigotry! Frankly, I'm quite insulted! When I came out in 1986 I lost my job, my home, most of my 'friends' and, to this day, a lot of family that will not even give me the time of day! Do I get $800,000 for being discriminated against? NO! not $80,000, not $8,000, not $800, not even $8.00! In fact I had creditors calling left and right demanding money from me because 'I didn't have to be that way'!

I'm angry. I've tried to contact the gofundme site and there is no way to explain how they are supporting bigotry. All I can do is 'report fraud' with a warning that it must be 'real fraud'. Ahghhhh! I'm going out to the library for a while! Gotta calm down.

My impression - and I'm interested to hear if I'm wrong - is that these people came forward on their own and volunteered the news that they loved the new law and would never cater a gay wedding. They went on the news and said this.

The Internet responded as expected, and 24 hours later there was a well-designed Gofundme page launched by James O'Keefe's outfit.

Smells fishy.

"just walked into their shop and asked how they feel. They've never been asked to cater a same-sex wedding.".

( From a tweet by the reporter at https://twitter.com/alyssa_marino/status/583281382933291008 )

They apparently don't do catering (they're just a pizza shop) and the question by the reporter was
apparently about the hypothetical catering of a hypothetical same-sex wedding as the reporter was
just looking for some television-story-worthy reactions to the new law in the neighborhood.

Right-wing media apparently had nothing to do with the initial story and the anti-Memories Pizza Internet
backlash that followed, they just saw an opportunity to jump on the story afterwards and did.

The fundraiser was started by a staff member of Glen Beck's The Dana Show after the show did an interview
with the woman at Memories Pizza about the controversy (see: http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2015/04/06/indiana-pizza-shop-gofundme-page-set-up-by-glenn-beck-news-site/ ).

The pizza restaurant had Christian signs and materials all over the store. It would be very likely they they would react this way.

I'm curious to know more about the reporter.

She's not local. Young reporter from CT in a small town in Indiana, trying to get the big story so she can move up the ladder in her career.

Meanwhile, right wing media were ready to defend their point of view. Add the public - those feeling strongly pro and con and the Internet - and we got a perfect storm.

that this is money that will not go to Bush 3!! Unfortunately all the money will be gone in a flash unless gofundme has built in help for these folk. All the gofundme projects that I have seen (very few actually) seem to be of this nature.

Sandy Hook didn't happen, we didn't land on the moon, there was no Boston bombing....
The more I hear about this story the worse it smells.
Exactly where is this gay couple who were denied services? Does anyone have a link to an interview with them? Because I'm not seeing it. Everyone is talking about the owners, not with the people who were offended.
Which makes me wonder....was there ever a couple? Or was this some Rwing asshole stiring the pot? Possibly even the owner himself?
Oh poor me, look how persecuted I am! My business sucked and I had to do SOMETHING to get some free press. I mean, it worked for that chicken place. Hey, I know, lets start a crowd fund and see how much money we can get.
These owners rolled over and played dead WAY to fast for me to think this wasn't planned.

One pizza chain wins the wingnut lottery, there isn't enough wingnut money to go around for every such place though
