I would like some help writing a respectful negative review

I just finished reading Blood Fae by India Drummond.

The title could be better, but that isn't my gripe. In most ways it was a nice little fantasy pulp. Save for one thing. The only visibly gay character was the violently insane murderous villian.

Sigh

Use the look inside or I can kindle lend it if anyone is curious.

Tho other reviews are gushy, but accurate. But, they don'take her to task for the villian.

Any thoughts?

Or Frank Herbert's Baron Harkonnen.

Does she play the gay up as a part of what makes the villain a villain, to make him extra odious?

Its not like he minces, but his lover was the first sacrifice to his plan for world domination.

3. I'd mention that you liked the book but

that maybe she could have portrayed the only visible character in a non-stereotypical manner--explaining how historically this is how LGBTQ characters have been portrayed. It let's other readers who may be looking for LGBT fiction that this probably isn't their cup of tea and informs the author of her wrong-doing.

There are several authors I don't read because, though they include LGBTQ characters, it's usually with a message that there's something inherently wrong with those characters.
