We recently visited Iowa for an Engineering Day. I was impressed with the kids which I saw that are in the engineering program. My daughter was hooked after the visit.

Republicans are so far beyond society on this point that they are in danger of being irrevelant within four years. I am pretty conservative, and so are my daughters. Our community is a pretty conservative college town. A large majority of the classmates for both my daughters are in favor of same sex marriage. The biggest argument for them is that it is just not fair to deny the same treatment under the law to everyone.

I think we're seeing that with the advent of the tea party douchebags and all the infighting with their inability to pick a candidate for 2012. We're seeing the slow yet inevitable implosion of the GOP.
